Dear James, The public needs to get over it.

I am disgusted by how so many people have gotten on the band wagon to denounce someone who has done well as a writer. If you were an addict who wrote an autobiographical piece there would have to be some parts that were embellished, no addict can remember everything. That is what writing is about. I highly doubt that there are any bio’s out there that are 100% fact that would entertain and sell as much as yours did. Your readers paid for the good time, now they need to stop acting like a girl who went home with a guy at a bar and feels pissed because when he said “I love you” during sex he wasn’t telling the truth.

I don't think the problem is that he lied in his silly little book. The problem is that he lied 1000 times over in a bunch of interviews by recollecting on those amazing events he lived through to sell his silly book. Fudge the facts a little in your memoir. Don't fake tears over those fudged facts on Oprah or whoever else you can find that will push your books to their cult. When the cult finds out it is a lie they get mad.

Apparently his PR people either didn't know the extent of the fabrications or weren't very smart. If they did know and they were smart, they would have advised him to maybe talk more about the importance of finding hope and treatment for addicts as opposed to letting Jimi run on and on about "walking the yard" or reading a few thousand pages while in jail because there was nothing else to do for the 5 hours of hell or the many other fantasies of his that he relived and recounted during each interview and booksigning.

By looking at ebay, it looks like the public is getting over it in there own way. A parody of the book, shredded copies of the book, and people selling the book with less than pleasant comments about the whole thing. Too funny.

I agree. I lit my copy on fire and hurled it at some homeless drug addicts.
